This is a book which LeAnn recommends to many clients who are curious about understanding relationships. Here is what one reader had to say about Undefended Love:
This remarkable book is deceptively small, but the words within are truly beyond priceless. This book seems to have been written with relationships in mind, but saying so is like saying the ocean contains water. There is so much more to this volume, and it is our opinion that if ever there was a comprehensive guide to relating with one's Self, this book would be the first chapter. Give it a try, and you will see what we mean.
Reverend Maria Reynolds knew "The Secret" long before the movie became so popular, and this book is inspiring and transfers wisdom with elegance. This book plants seeds for inspiration and growth, especially for those who have struggled in life thus far. Through her writing, Reverend Maria assists us in 'awakening to more of ourselves'.
"... words don't define with precision what's inherently clear to us at moments of knowing..."
Dr. Wayne Dyer has authored many books, and this is just one of his works now on DVD which can assist you in discovering your own personal knowing. There is no specific religion or spiritual belief; no psychological theory or method which takes you to the place of knowing. It is your own personal discovery through life's experiences. All of these methods, tools, and books are simply that: ways, not answers. The answer is your own desire to know and love yourself that brings you to a place of knowing. If the quote above resonates with you, then you may find this movie or his books inspire you to find that place.
You may have seen Dr. Christiane Northrup on Oprah or perhaps even a television program sponsored by the Public Broadcasting Service. She reminds us of the beauty of aging and how spirituality and science have merged to create an acceptance of the process. Her books and presentations provide a framework for many of the concepts with which we are already familiar, and she also celebrates with us the energetic surge of wisdom which comes in later life.
Parents and Guardians often ask me where they can find resources for on-the-spot positive discipline approaches. This is one resource which LeAnn recommends. Children sometimes receive constant criticisms or corrections, and while some corrective actions are necessary, others result from a frustrating feeling of not knowing what else one can do to positively influence behavior. This book is chock full of over 1,000 tips for parents and guardians which are easy to find and have concrete examples. This book is one in a series, and each of the other books addresses a particular developmental group (i.e. teens, preschoolers, etc.).
As my own children were growing up, they would visit a counselor named Mrs. Beautiful at school whenever something was troubling them. LeAnn also had the opportunity to work with children on school campuses, and she realized that school counselors are valuable individuals. This particular author, Karen Burnett, was Mrs. Beautiful. Through this story about a little boy going fishing, the author teaches children to avoid taking teasing personally. In this way, it is about self-esteem and keeping reality in focus despite pressure from social groups.
